Expand it with more buildings and develop the infrastructure. Medieval monasteries were famous for having exceptionally rich hospitals and educational facilities. They also served as sanctuaries for weary travelers and played a vital role in supplying nearby residential settlements with products. You have to build it all by yourself, so you better get to work!
